Hello there! My name is Melinda Knutson and the "K" is not silent so it's pronounced kah-newt-son. It's Norwegian and it came with the man who stole my heart 17 years ago. He's my biggest supporter and you'll often see him with me during sessions, carrying gear, coats, blankets and such.
I have always felt peace in nature, venturing into the woods on my horse was my favorite place to be even as a young child. I'm from Denver so the mountains are a part of me so when Karl and I decided to leave New York and head south, Asheville was the perfect choice. We are now on a mission to see as many waterfalls and hike as many trails as possible! Although, I had to promise not to follow bears to take photos anymore... yes, I did do that.
They say "if you love what you do then you never work a day in your life." I disagree. I love what I do so much that I work hard and I am always learning and growing. That is what is so beautiful about art... there are no limits. One of my goals for 2022 was to see my work published and I had the honor being published in not once but several times. When I got the first email from Shutter Up Magazine, I was so excited!
I specialize in capturing real emotion. Posed, look at the camera kind of photos are not my style (although there may be a few during a session). Capturing true, authentic love is my mission and I'd love to capture your love.
